Capping or foiling?

0 like 0 dislike
I have highlighted hair. My stylist used to use the “cap” method, and while I didn’t really like the hair being “pulled”, it was effective and worked well. Now, my stylist prefers to do the “foiling” method. While I don’t miss the “pulling”, it really wasn’t all that bad, and the foils are so much more expensive. Why?

Foiling is becoming the “preferred” method by many clients...and many salons have switched to foils only. However, it does tend to be more time consuming, and salons have realized they’re losing money because of the increased time factor. Also, stylists who do foils tend to have more training, and because of the expense of time and money to obtain that training, they feel entitled to charge more. Certainly, you have the right to request the “cap” method if you prefer it. If you’ve been with your salon a while, they should be understanding of your request.
