Q. I colored my hair at home,
myself. It didn’t turn out like the picture on the box. When I called my
stylist, they said yes, they could probably help, but the price they
quoted was double the cost of a regular color. Why?
A. Corrective color always is more
difficult than starting from scratch. Your stylist must have the
knowledge and training to recognize the problem and also the ability to
know what to use and how to correct it. Many times corrective color takes
50% to 75% more time, depending on whether the problem is “too light
color” or “too dark color”. Since time is money for those working in
salons, charges for corrective color are higher.
